Grapes: 95% Muscat of Alexandria, 5% Limnio
Limnos is a picture-perfect Greek island in the middle of the Aegean, between the east coast of Greece and the west coast of Turkey. The Garalis family have been making wines from the islandâs volcanic soils for over 100 years. Their 105 acres of vineyards are exclusively organic, with the largest challenge being an abundance of wild bunnies. While cute, these little guys can wreak havoc on grains and vines.Â
The result? A wine that's both fruity and savory which carries notes of red fruit, dried flowers, and a hint of almost salty umami. Delicious, especially when paired with food.
This wine is a charcuterie dream, with the savory elements accentuating prosciutto, melon, and capers. It is also beautiful with smoked salmon or lobster (or just crack open and sip on its own)...!
